Outstanding Bitcoin Explanation
When does mainstream media attention help financial freedom?
Hunting for a top quality explanation of Bitcoin to throw at some friends and family? Look no further than this interview! Michael Saylor absolutely nails it during this appearance with Tucker Carlson, with his engineering based, yet eclectic set of points.
During the conversation he highlights some key features to Bitcoin, such as that it is “inelastic to price”, and that it is “the first system that respects thermodynamics”. However there was one extremely poignant question, which grabs my attention as someone interested in wealth preservation every time, “how do you save $100,000, for 100 years, to give to your great-grandkids?”
The answer of course... you guess it… buy Bitcoin! To see such an eloquent and rational explanation for its importance hitting the mainstream media, can only be a good thing, which I hope filters through to families on their quest for long-term financial freedom.
Creating New Reality
Why is short-form video crucial to improving Bitcoin education?
“Time is money, money is time, but how we printing money, if we can’t print time?” What an opening lyric from Tip, in this excellent 2 minute video she produced, that lays out why Bitcoin is important. Asking questions is not only allowed, but should be encouraged, quite contrary to so much of the agenda-driven “trust the experts” rhetoric common today.
She takes you on a concise, informative, and impactful journey; proving nicely why taking a critical thinking approach is valuable from the outset. Of particular note is the emphasis on Bitcoin as a “energy-backed hard money”, which “takes a helluva time”, prompting one to consider how different the world might look synced to this new clock.
We should be encouraging more content of this type to be produced, having been a a student of internet virality in the past, I know how successful short-form video can be at getting people’s attention. Lastly, for the eagle-eyed amongst you, at 1.55 you may have noticed my recent “want freedom, buy bitcoin” sign featured! (Shout out to aurumbtc for the photo on the day!)
Plebucation On Energy
What basics do we need to know to Bitcoin Mine at home?
Over the past few months I’ve become twitter friends with Daz Bea, who’s written a series of great articles aimed at helping those like myself, with very little practical energy knowledge. Check out the first in his series: “Energy and Electricity for Plebs — Plebucation for Bitcoiner’s #1 — Basics and Mining”.
I enjoyed how simple the explanation was, teaching a topic that for me is long forgotten, post leaving school many years ago. I up to this point really had no idea how the electrics in my own home functioned, especially with a view to Bitcoin mining, which I am sure will begin to proliferate in on a small scale with education like this.
Seeing how people are drawn to Bitcoin, then feel the urge collaborate by sharing their domain expertise, is arguably the biggest driver of value for the network. As someone only just beginning to understand the important of the ‘Bitcoin Plebs’, my “Plebucation” is well under way…
